The Glenwood (QLD) Wildlife Awareness Group is a community organisation dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation and understanding of wildlife among the members of Glenwood and surrounding communities. We aim to support wildlife projects, develop wildlife corridors, assist local wildlife, educate residents on wildlife identification and needs, and gather valuable information on wildlife species in Glenwood.
Our Activities
Supporting Wildlife Projects: We actively participate in and support various wildlife projects aimed at conserving and protecting our region’s diverse range of species. By collaborating with other organisations and local authorities, we strive to impact the well-being and preservation of our wildlife positively.
Developing Wildlife Corridors: We are committed to assisting in the development of wildlife corridors throughout Glenwood and the surrounding areas. These corridors provide safe pathways for wildlife to move and migrate, promoting biodiversity and enhancing the overall ecological balance of our region.
Assisting Local Wildlife: Our organisation work tirelessly to assist and protect wildlife in Glenwood and its vicinity. We support those who provide emergency care, rehabilitation, and support to injured or orphaned animals. These include organisations such as Anarra and individuals such as Lisa Skrokov and Jenny Dupont.
Wildlife Identification and Education: Understanding and recognising wildlife is crucial to their conservation. Our team will offer educational resources, workshops, and training programs to help residents in Glenwood and the surrounding areas identify local wildlife and learn about their specific needs. By increasing awareness and knowledge, we can all contribute to the well-being of our natural environment.
Gathering Wildlife Information: We collect, collate, and distribute valuable information on local wildlife species. By systematically documenting and analyzing data, we identify areas in Glenwood where wildlife requires assistance and implement targeted initiatives to address their needs effectively.
